Dojo, a card payment provider for small businesses, undertook research to find out where are the best locations for women to start their businesses in the UK. The research looked at a wide range of factors that would impact success, such as the 5-year start-up survival rate, gender pay gap in each city, number of females employed and self employed, average weekly pay and the cost of living.

- Chelmsford – 64.63/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 44.50%.
- Worcester – 61.70/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 45.10%.
- Carlisle – 61.44/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 37.90%.
- York – 61.17/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 46.40%.
- Derby – 59.84/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 38.40%.
- Hereford – 55.23/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 46.20%.
- Wakefield – 54.79/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 39.20%.
- Lancaster – 54.52/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 45.50%.
- St Albans – 54.52/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 43.00%.
- Chester – 54.26/100 with an estimated 5 year survival rate of 43.60%.
